Recycling Requirements

Certain cities and towns require recycling. For those locations, customers must purchase both trash and recycling service.

Acceptable Recycling

  • Metal cans
  • Food and beverage cans — empty and rinse
  • Plastic bottles, jars, jugs and tubs
  • Glass bottles and jars — empty and rinse
  • Paper and cardboard

Keep These Out

  • No food or liquid
  • No plastic bags or plastic wrap
  • No clothing or linens
  • No cords, hoses, wires or chains
  • No hazardous or bulky items
  • No garbage

Empty All Containers

Food and liquid can ruin other recyclables. Please empty and rinse containers before placing them in your recycling tote.

Tote Placement Reminder

Place totes correctly: Face totes toward the road, keep them near the curb, and leave space between totes so the truck can service them properly.

  • Totes must face the road
  • Keep totes about 1 foot apart
  • Totes must be within 3 feet of the curb
  • Have totes curbside before 7 AM
